Do I qualify for a free boiler grant?

Your home boiler has quite a responsibility. Its job is to keep you warm on cold days (which, let’s face it, is a lot!) and make sure you always have access to hot, running water.

For us, the boiler is working away happily in the background and nobody thinks too much about it. Until it stops working. Then it’s all we can think about!

For families on low incomes, a faulty or aging boiler is a particular concern as replacing it could well mean a bill of around £1,000 or more.

We can take away that worry, as households that meet certain criteria may well be able to access grant funding to cover the cost of a new, replacement boiler.

Worth looking into isn’t it?

After all, though your current boiler might be meeting its duties right now, why risk it breaking down when you could get a brand new one without it costing you a single penny?

FREE boiler grants available

The government’s Energy Companies Obligations (ECO) scheme offers homeowners and private tenants the opportunity to have their old boilers replaced free of charge, or at least have the cost of replacement subsidised.

Evidence of home ownership or landlord permission is needed.

The Affordable Warmth Obligation is another part of the ECO scheme and also helps with the cost of replacing or repairing boilers.

Again, you must either own your own home, or be renting privately and have an energy rating of E, F or G.

For those living in social housing, help may still be available for a new boiler if it’s being installed for the first time.
