The third generation of the Tesla Wall Connector has seen huge improvements to the look, size and weight. It still leaves a visually striking impression, but goes about it with slightly more discretion.
Dimensions – H345mm x W155mm x D110mm
Weight – 6.8kg
The new Tesla Wall Connector now includes WiFi connectivity so it can receive over-the-air updates to improve features and add new ones.
The uber-smart LED light strip has been retained from the previous iteration of the Wall Connector. It offers a cool, but useful, indicator of the charging status such as ready to charge, charging or if there’s an error.
To open the charging flap on a Tesla requires the driver to either enter the vehicle and tap “unlock” on the screen, open it from within the Tesla app or by pressing the flap when the vehicle is unlocked. Streamline the whole process with the Tesla Wall Connector – the button on the charging handle with remotely open and close the charging flap on Tesla vehicles, offering an added layer of convenience.
The Tesla Wall Connector is capable of supplying up to 22kW of power, however most UK homeowners will be limited to 7.4kW which will still add around 30 miles of range per hour and is plenty for most EV drivers. See the Tesla Product FAQs below for more information on why you may not be able to use the full 22kW the Wall Connector offers.
The Tesla Wall Connector has a handy 2.5m cable included, though you can opt for the longer 7.5m version.
